Canvas Gallery hosts the book launch for the Furqaan Ahmed Collection’s new publication: ‘Finding Jinnah: Contemporary Art in Pakistan’, on Saturday 20th March.
This unique volume documents the works of 29 contemporary artists from Pakistan, presenting the image of Quaid-e-Azam through manifold unique lens. Ranging from pop-culture to stately portraiture re-interpreted, from the annals of the nation’s history to present day, curators, artists and historians contributed to analysis and exploration of the varied nature of the Founder’s image: Rabbya Naseer, Salima Hashmi , Hammad Nasar, Zarmeene Shah, Ali Osman Qasmi and Ali Raza; with project facilitation by Ambareen Karamat of White Turban, cover photography by Humayun Memon, cover design by Sara Aziz and editing and layout design by Maryam Hassan and Rida Fazal.
